An Unexpected Letter

Who was the sender?

I was so surprised to receive one particular email recently. Who was the sender? Me.

I used a website that sends messages to the future, and I totally forgot about it! It was from exactly one year ago, and I chuckled thinking I could be so sentimental. After all, who sends emails or letters to themselves?

Awesome people like me and you, of course. *wink*

Here are some of the messages that I got from my past self:

Dear FutureMe,

You’re strong. Keep going.

Keep striving for your dreams… DON’T GIVE UP. Keep spreading love to people around you. Always hold on to God. He’ll never leave you.

Be strong. I don’t know how many times I can repeat this. Everything’s going to be okay.

Believe me.

Do you write letters to yourself too? It sounds odd saying that, but I can’t be the only one. It’s seriously a great way to see where you were in the past, how far you’ve come, and where else you want to go in your life.

You can also send an email to your future self here. If you’ve never done it, maybe now’s the time to try. Who knows? It might be a pleasant surprise or even a good reminder for you at the exact moment that you need it.

Go on daily warriors, send some love to your future self.<3

Great post, Liz. I actually did something similar where for my English assignment, I was tasked with writing a letter to future me 5 years from now. It was weird because you know that by the time the five years are up; you would have forgotten about ever writing it.

Cool! Is it a handwritten letter or online as well? A lot can change in 5 years.. That would be so interesting..

Hi Terri… Yes, I’m doing a lot better than the past few weeks. Helping out and doing volunteer work has been so good for me. I hope you’re doing well too. ❤

Yeah it was pretty cool, and funny. Also made me reflect on the past year.. There are options to send after 3 yrs or 5 yrs… I wonder if that would be even more interesting.
