I heard a familiar melody in the other room.
It was one of my sisters, flaunting her strong beautiful voice as she sang.
This would have been a sweet moment to be appreciated. But I was alarmed.
‘Cause the same sister was right in front of me, looking at me straight in the eye.
I turned to look back at the other room, and there she was.
Which one of them is my REAL sister?
It certainly didn’t feel like the one who was sending dagger looks my way.
This HAD to be a nightmare.
So I woke up.
I opened my eyes and looked up at the ceiling of my bedroom. It was naturally dark, since it was around 3AM.
I felt relieved that I could force myself to wake up when my dreams are becoming too disturbing. I felt my boyfriend shifting his body on the right side of my bed and turned to him.
“Are you okay?” he said.
“Yeah. I just had a nightmare.” I replied as my eyes adjusted to the dim room.
“Okay. Don’t worry. You’re not dreaming anymore. You’re in reality.” was the reply.
This would have been a sweet moment I could have cherished. Except that I couldn’t see his face.
Whoever was lying down beside me was just a shadowy figure.
And I realized that I didn’t let my boyfriend stay the night.
I wake up.
