Imagine a multitude of people who are stubborn and tend to complain about every little thing. What if you were asked to lead such a crowd through the wilderness? What if you had to pass by several places with tall, strong soldiers who were hostile towards you?
It must have been tough for Joshua, because he was appointed leader of the wandering Israelites after Moses died. Yet, he took the responsibility with an obedient heart. Why? Because he knew that God was backing him up all throughout.
Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Now, imagine the biggest challenge you currently have in your life.
Is it too scary? Too overwhelming? Is it bigger than the God who created the heavens and the earth? Do you feel all alone in carrying the burden?
You may feel weak in your own strength, but God is with you.
And if God is with you, what is there to fear?
Reflection:
- Are you putting off doing something because you’re afraid?
- Do you believe that God is with you through your trials in life?
I follow your blog though I don’t comment very often. This post is right on the money for my whole week – or maybe month. Thanks for posts like this!
Love how your blog is growing and transforming too ❤️

I have a technical seminar coming up where I need to stand before a bunch of learned people and talk about my topic. I am literally a ball of nervous energy for this upcoming event. But, after reading your post I feel that my apprehensions are so minuscule when I relate the event with almighty. As usual an inspirational post, Liz!
I am about to take a leap of faith and oh there’s one more quote from which I draw my strength- “Face your fears otherwise they become your limits.”
Much love, Anaida

I think most of us are nervous when needed to speak in front of a group of people. I know you will prepare well for your talk, and you’ll be great! Do some breathing exercises backstage to calm your nerves… I’m glad my post helped. 🙂

This is one of my favorite verses in the bible. The funny thing is that my Mother used to tell it to me – little did I know that one day, it would give me strength to run away from her abusive treatment. I love your blog! Keep up the great work encouraging others to be their best selves.

Hi Nicole. I’ll visit your blog in a bit, but I want to let you know that I really appreciate your response. Thank you for being here and for leaving a comment.
Although we are told to love others, it’s also alright to know when to put our foot down and walk away. You did a brave thing to know your value and turn away from abuse. We don’t have to put up with certain things, even from those who are closest to us. Sending love your way. ❤
