“Could it possibly be
That we simply can’t believe
That this unconditional
Kind of love would be enough
To take a filthy wretch like this
And wrap him up in righteousness
But that’s exactly what He did”
– Mercy Me, Flawless
It’s so easy to think there’s something wrong with us.
I’m not smart enough, not good looking enough.
I’m weak. I’m sick.
I’m broken. I don’t belong.
I did terrible things.
I can’t do anything right.
I’m addicted. There’s no hope for me.
The list of things that tell us we don’t deserve anything more keep playing in our minds. 2,000 years ago, the Son of God died for all our sins. All the blemishes and imperfections in us are wiped clean as we put our faith in Jesus as our Savior.
All your flaws lose its power over you as it gets replaced with the righteousness of God that flows through you as His beloved child. Even as Christians, we tend to forget this.
The next time you let your peers make you feel like you don’t belong, don’t fret too much. When you think of that basketball tryout you failed or that flunked exam, remember that you can do better.
Know that your shortcomings do not diminish your value.
The moment we take the spotlight from ourselves to our powerful God who loves us, we become a new creation.
“No matter the bumps
No matter the bruises
No matter the scars
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless”
– Mercy Me, Flawless
Reflection:
1. Take a moment to think about your imperfections. Do you beat yourself up over them?
2. How should you deal with your flaws?
Beautiful post Liz…..very motivating and inspiring….very true….:)

This is right on, we’re created as flawed naturally. And God’s word tells us and we feel we cannot come to Papa the way we are, But that He loved us so much that He came to save us from ourselves. He in the spirit is here. Living a life in Christ makes it possible to face anything https://wtfaiblog.wordpress.com/2017/02/21/honestly/
We are the bearers of that Light to show the world.
Bless you

I am one of the ones prone to “beating myself up” over flaws. This was beautiful.

Awesome post Liz !
There is definitely no point in being hard on yourself. Beating yourself up doesn’t make the problem go away. Instead look for the solution to the problem once you have calmed down.
Cool music, I like it !
