Hearty Conversations

“The best conversations are the ones where you don’t have to worry about what you say, you can just be you.”

The Daily Warriors Community (consisting of the wonderful bloggers who follow this blog) is growing day by day.

We come from all walks of life. We deal with things differently, yet we can be so similar in certain ways.

I’d like to get to know you more and for you all to interact with each other too. Hence, I decided to have a special category entitled Hearty Conversations.

It’s really simple. I post a question, and you can answer through a comment. You can also leave a link of your blog post related to the question. I encourage you to comment on others’ answers if you feel like it, and possibly gain a new blogger friend. How awesome would that be?

“The best conversations are the ones where you don’t have to worry about what you say, you can just be you.”

Let’s talk. 🙂

If nothing works right for me. ..i go into silent meditation for even as less as few minutes. ..control my mind to focus on all the good things that happened and all the better things to come in the future. ..i shut off the negative me and fill myself up with happy feelings. ..positivity. ..and spread the happiness among everybody else. ..😊

That means you spend some time alone first, right?

I withdraw when I’m in a bad mood. I don’t want to contaminate anyone with my negativity and also find that often nothing people say helps. That is because when I’m in a bad mood my emotional centre in my brain is dysregulated and out of rational control. I need to calm down the amgdala (emotional centre) in my brain, and only then can I properly process what’s upsetting me and take corrective action. I need to self-soothe first, and to do that I need solitude and peace. I’m doing it right now…having a duvet afternoon with music and reading. 🙂

That sounds like a very relaxing time. I think I deal with things the same way, although I tend to binge watch my favorite series or cartoons instead. 😀

Great idea Liz!! I prefer to have someone cheer me up. It’s not like it takes them any real effort really. For the most part, I just need to step outside of myself and laugh and my friends know how to make me laugh. I guess I know how to make myself laugh as well, but doing it alone makes you appear a little crazy. 😉

Haha. Thanks for making me laugh alone in front of my computer. Now, I feel crazy.

It depends on why I’m in a bad mood. If it’s because of something that has just happened that angered me, I’d rather be left alone so I can get control so as not to say something I’d later regret. If it’s a deep wound, it’s good to have someone to talk to and to know I wasn’t alone.

When I am in a bad mood I prefer to talk to someone most of the times my husband.. He knows how to cheer me up.. But I rarely let it stew inside me… But I can’t be sad for long, I hate that.. If no one is around to talk to, I usually watch my favourite movie or re-read my favourite books… Anything that can distract me till I can think rationally about the issues bothering me…

Oh, me too- I can always count on my husband to bring me out of it, thank God for him. He’s a blessing 🙂

When I’m in a bad mood, I want someone to shake me out of it. That “someone” is usually my husband. He’ll ask, “How are you doing” and I say “Not so good” and he automatically brings me out of it with humor or a good conversation. I search out good friends and family when I’m in a bad mood, something and someone to take my mind off of it and to snap out of it. I need the company.
