Pangolin Love

What’s really special about this doodle game is the cause behind it.

Google Doodles , the creative changes made on the Google page logo for certain occasions, are usually entertaining.

For this Valentine’s Day, Google created a doodle game called “Pangolin Love”. Once you click on the “Play” button, you can help a pangolin go through different stages in his quest for love.

What’s really special about this doodle game is the cause behind it. It may be a cute game, but there is a seriousness about it. It helps raise awareness for an endangered species due to illegal trafficking.

What is a Pangolin?

Pangolins are the world’s only scaly mammal. They are covered in protective scales, and curl up into a ball when there is imminent danger.

Pangolin comes from “penggulung”, the Malay word for roller – the action a pangolin takes in self-defense. (Source)

They are one of the most trafficked mammals in Asia and Africa because of their meat and  scales. They are protected under national and international laws, but this does not stop the illegal trade for them.

You can learn more about it at www.worldwildlife.org, and even adopt a pangolin to help!
