“Princess, just give it up.” Anxiety stood up and started pacing back and forth across the room. “There’s no possible way for you to be successful with your plans for Project Phoenix.”
Princess was about to speak up, but sighed. She was still a bit lethargic. She just looked at Anxiety with a blank stare.
“You know how dangerous it is! Why would you put your life at risk for it? I’m not even sure you can trust Optimism on this. How many plans have blown up in our faces because of her? I have had it up to here with that one!” Anxiety threw her hands up in frustration.
She was talking to a dazed Princess who seemed to have become lost in her own thoughts. How did she even get here? She felt so tired and sleepy. Was it the effect of the Dark Room? Why was Anxiety talking about Project Phoenix?
“Oh, geez. Con, talk to her.” Anxiety said before leaving the room.
Confusion cleared his throat. It wasn’t always easy to voice out his opinions on these matters. He walked up to the bed and sat beside Princess.
“You know, Anxiety is just protecting you in her own weird way.”
Princess managed a small smile. “Con, I can’t give up on Project Phoenix. You know that.”
“You may think it’s a good idea, but Anx has a point. Several, in fact.”
Princess frowned as she considered Confusion’s statement. She can never question his words. “This is too important to me. I have to at least try.”
“I’m not totally against the whole thing. I just…” Confusion held her hand gently. “There have been people before you who have tried to do the same. Do you know where they are now?”
Princess shook her head as Confusion muttered, “Neither does anybody else.”
